10 Ways to Reach 10,000 Steps a Day

  1. Set an Hourly Alarm

Set an alarm for every hour to remind you to get some steps in. Take a lap around the office, the block or around the house to up those daily step counts.

  1. Walk While You Wait

Checked-in early for an appointment? Take a lap around the building or block instead of sitting in the waiting room.

  1. Find a New Trail

Is there a neighborhood you’ve been wanting to explore? Take a walk around and find some new trails, shopping or dining spots!

  1. End Your Trip Early

Get off the bus or train a stop or two early and finish the rest of your commute with a walk.

  1. Take the Stairs

Try taking the stairs as often as possible when you would typically take the elevator or escalator.

  1. Add Some Accountability

Post your goals and accomplishments on social media and invite your friends and family to join along.

  1. Take a Walk at Lunch

When you’ve finished lunch, take a walk around the block before resuming work.

  1. Partner Up

Find a walking buddy or a friend you can call to walk and talk with.

  1. Pace During Your Next Phone Call

Pace instead of sitting during your next phone call to boost your step count!

  1. Park Further Away

Park your car at the furthest end of the parking lot to get some bonus steps in to and from your car.
